Founded in 1990 by Betty and John Lau, AIP is a minority- and woman-owned small business. Our team of talented professionals includes technologists, software developers, data analysts, communications strategists, producers, story tellers, instructional designers, video editors, and animators.
We are headquartered in a 50,000 square foot solar powered green building in Central New Jersey that includes our business offices, technology and design departments, two green screen studios, digital video editing suites, 3D and motion graphics suites, data center and a 2,000 sq ft innovation center. Betty Lau, CEO
An entrepreneurial veteran, Betty Lau is co-founder of Appliedinfo Partners and has been the CEO of the company since its inception in 1990. Her technical leadership resulted in the development of Appliedinfo Partner’s DivTRAK, a leading supplier diversity management software, and DIF, the award-winning, collaborative, on-line course development framework used by the US Army, among others. In addition to her duties as CEO, Betty oversees the enhancements and maintenance of both DivTRAK and DIF.
To lay the groundwork for her independent success, Betty began her career at AT&T, where she entered as a programmer and left as a project manager. She holds a B.S. in computer science from Queens College in New York City and has attended GE’s executive education course.

John Lau, President
As president of Appliedinfo Partners, John is responsible for the operations of all of it’s businesses: D2 TEAM-Sim, D2 Cybersecurity, and D2 Creative. D2 TEAM-Sim specializes in interactive training, while D2 Creative is a digital agency serving B2B, B2C, and non-profit organizations.
John has been active in the supplier diversity field for more than 30 years. His DivTRAK software solution pioneered the ability for major corporations to track their spending with diverse suppliers.
The company’s latest product, DIF, is being recognized for its ability to rapidly and collaboratively create, distribute, and update interactive, media-rich courseware.
John was the vice chair of the Coalition of Asian American Business Organizations (CAABO) and the board director and former chair of the New Jersey Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce, where he initiated programs on such topics as SBA minority certifications and how to do business with large corporations. John has been ranked among the “Top 50 Pros to Know” by iSource Magazine, was cited as Asian Entrepreneur of the Year by Asian Enterprise Magazine, and recognized with the Albert Einstein Award for Innovation as part of the NJ Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. He has been featured in The Star-Ledger, MBE Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and on CNBC.

Prior to co-founding Appliedinfo Partners in 1990, John was president of the Lautek Corporation, a major PC system integrator. He was also vice president at Shearson/American Express and a systems manager at Citibank. John received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Stony Brook University and has attended numerous executive courses at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business.

Michael DeFabrizio, President, D2 Creative
For nearly two decades, Michael has helped life science, technology and medical device companies deliver meaningful brand experiences, drive engagement and amplify conversions. Michael has strived to make D2Creative different as an independent digital agency, by promise to always give our clients our “A” team.
Mike credits his double major in cultural anthropology and cinema at the New School for Social Research in New York City for providing him a unique perspective and insight into the psyche of our ever-changing world. This has allowed him to thrive in the evolving business of communications. In 1980, he co-founded NYTV (New York Television), known for its video storytelling for Fortune 500 corporations, cable and broadcast giants, MTV and ABC, as well as non-profit organizations. In 1996, he formed NYD2 (New York Digital Design), one of the earliest digital agencies, which created the first web sites for several corporate conglomerates.
Through the years Mike has also been able to keep his strong connection to the non-profit community, both professionally and personally. He was instrumental in forging D2 Creatives’ relationships with organizations like Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and other health advocacy organizations. Today D2 Creative maintains a broader commitment to advance humanity through our ongoing connection to the non-profit community.

Suby Gupta, President, D2 Cybersecurity
Suby has enjoyed success in Fortune 100 companies and start-ups, with experience in mobile/web/enterprise product application development, network/cloud/end-point security, telecommunications, and embedded design.
Prior to joining AIP, Suby worked at several SMB/startup companies, managing development of cutting-edge products covering the entire security landscape. Before focusing on security, he was a senior manager at AT&T Microelectronics (Agere)/Alcatel-Lucent Technologies (Bell Labs). There, his responsibilities included standardizing design methodologies for all ASIC design centers worldwide under the Lucent HW/SW Leadership Council. He was also an expert in offshore programs, responsible for architecting, designing, and interfacing with overseas resources for high quality on-time deliverables.
Suby began his career at IBM, where he started as a hardware verification engineer. He then moved to Racal-Redac, where he managed a number of personnel and training centers, leading the integration of various technologies into mainstream markets. He received a BS and MS in Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, after transferring from IIT-Kharagpur, India.

Daniel Gonzalez
— Board Member
Former Head of Finance and Development, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, and a key member to rollout the popular chicken sandwich in 2019 and former Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Burger King and Popeyes are part of the Restaurant Brands International companies. Daniel received an MBA from the University of Chicago. Previously worked in investment banking.
