Betty Lau, CEO

An entrepreneurial veteran, Betty Lau is co-founder of Appliedinfo Partners and has been the CEO of the company since its inception in 1990. Her technical leadership resulted in the development of Appliedinfo Partner’s DivTRAK, a leading supplier diversity management software, and DIF, the award-winning, collaborative, on-line course development framework used by the US Army, among others. In addition to her duties as CEO, Betty oversees the enhancements and maintenance of both DivTRAK and DIF.

To lay the groundwork for her independent success, Betty began her career at AT&T, where she entered as a programmer and left as a project manager. She holds a B.S. in computer science from Queens College in New York City and has attended GE’s executive education course.

John Lau, President

As president of Appliedinfo Partners, John is responsible for the operations of all of it’s businesses: D2 TEAM-Sim, D2 Cybersecurity, and D2 Creative. D2 TEAM-Sim specializes in interactive training, while D2 Creative is a digital agency serving B2B, B2C, and non-profit organizations.

John has been active in the supplier diversity field for more than 30 years. His DivTRAK software solution pioneered the ability for major corporations to track their spending with diverse suppliers.

The company’s latest product, DIF, is being recognized for its ability to rapidly and collaboratively create, distribute, and update interactive, media-rich courseware.

John was the vice chair of the Coalition of Asian American Business Organizations (CAABO) and the board director and former chair of the New Jersey Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce, where he initiated programs on such topics as SBA minority certifications and how to do business with large corporations. John has been ranked among the “Top 50 Pros to Know” by iSource Magazine, was cited as Asian Entrepreneur of the Year by Asian Enterprise Magazine, and recognized with the Albert Einstein Award for Innovation as part of the NJ Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards. He has been featured in The Star-Ledger, MBE Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and on CNBC.

Prior to co-founding Appliedinfo Partners in 1990, John was president of the Lautek Corporation, a major PC system integrator. He was also vice president at Shearson/American Express and a systems manager at Citibank. John received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Stony Brook University and has attended numerous executive courses at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business.

Michael DeFabrizio, President, D2 Creative

For nearly two decades, Michael has helped life science, technology and medical device companies deliver meaningful brand experiences, drive engagement and amplify conversions. Michael has strived to make D2Creative different as an independent digital agency, by promise to always give our clients our “A” team.

Mike credits his double major in cultural anthropology and cinema at the New School for Social Research in New York City for providing him a unique perspective and insight into the psyche of our ever-changing world. This has allowed him to thrive in the evolving business of communications. In 1980, he co-founded NYTV (New York Television), known for its video storytelling for Fortune 500 corporations, cable and broadcast giants, MTV and ABC, as well as non-profit organizations. In 1996, he formed NYD2 (New York Digital Design), one of the earliest digital agencies, which created the first web sites for several corporate conglomerates.

Through the years Mike has also been able to keep his strong connection to the non-profit community, both professionally and personally. He was instrumental in forging D2 Creatives’ relationships with organizations like Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and other health advocacy organizations. Today D2 Creative maintains a broader commitment to advance humanity through our ongoing connection to the non-profit community.
